Added walking ease, longer zipper opening (and facings), and longer length.
I didn't need as much length as I cut, but wanted options and a deeper hem for this version.
This fabric was a remnant from 2 other projects, and I was left with less than a handful of scrap that's headed for the scrap pouf. It's very gratifying to use every bit of fabric, a little like finishing a pencil. I also forgot it is the worst fabric for wrinkling I've ever worked with, but I like the neutral color.

For someone who seems the sew in their sleep, I must say your projects are amazing. Love that skirt. Comfy, classic and versatile, skirts like this are great builder pieces. A while ago I had a "look at me and I will wrinkle linen/rayon blend" that had me peeved. I eventually ran channel quilting on the lengthwise grain using the underlining as a stabilizer. While the fabric wrinkled between the rows (about 1 1/2 inch wide if I remember correctly) but it ended up looking like a fashion/texture statement fabric. Quilt fabric first (after pre-washing) then cut pieces. Item has since gone to its next owner. No pictures. I am not so good at getting the snaps. After the air clears here I plan to make that a resolution.
Thank you Corrine! It was beautiful before washing, then it just didn't seem to matter how much ironing it was subjected to, it would wrinkle. If it were more expensive I would have taken more time with it. I had hoped that the lining would help tame the wrinkles but that hasn't worked out. Channel quilting will be a good exercise for projects to come, I'll have to add that to the design idea wall for future wrinkly fabrics.
Don't sweat it! The 'texture' seems to match the style and the lines. You would almost expect a cargo skirt to look like it was worn comfortably. When I see a cargo skirt or pants that isn't wrinkled, I think polyester *blech*.
I will admit that underlining linen with fusible helps. I will have to try Corrine's quilting idea if I ever find myself sewing with it again, it sounds intriguing.
Becki - Remember that thread on PR about the purposely wrinkled seams on jeans? This would have been the perfect fabric for it, I shudder to think what it will look like when it comes out of the dryer after the first wear.
Cute skirt! I agree about the comfortably worn look being right for this style.
