3 goals for 2026

Holidays are over, who's ready for 2026?  No, not me either.... I need clothes, but I also have some quilts to finish, and to start.... what to tackle next? Truly, what I really need is a new sloper, it's time.

My goals for 2026 - A new sloper, and a quilt :)

We'll probably have a few more weeks of cold, but who knows, could be longer, I don't know if you've done a search lately on quilted pants, which are popular right now.  The older I get the more cold sensitive I've become, they look like a good idea.

She has a lot of cute ideas for reworking quilts.

Some random website...which featured these vintage quilt pants.

From a practical point of view, I would worry about all of those bulky seams rubbing against each other while walking, afraid they may not hold up.  For more fun, search on Tik Tok.

The third goal for 2026.... stop wasting time researching for things not on my goal list.

I am not sure if we have discussed this in the past, but I have a bit of a twinge with large scale prints. Call it early training during the "neutral" stage of my life but I have not been able to find a full scale quilt pattern that would not compete with my body shape or my freckles. That said, I have a friend who has made several jackets/coats from very dynamic mixed prints and they are fabulous. She is a tiny person and somewhat overwhelmed by some of it, but one jacket made from orphan blocks, all in the same color family and similar design patterns is stunning. Also in colors that compliment her.
