The Art Islands 6 Naoshima & Teshima

This was a complicated segment of travel, you have to coordinate trains and ferries for this one so I landed in Temano after a bus and a train, hoping to land in time for dinner. Here we check into  Kieran hotel. It’s connected to a bicycle training course behind the hotel and the rooms are decorated with this theme.

This is the view from the hotel. The sunrise here is beautiful, actually the sky here is pretty stunning.

Landing here is all in preparation for getting to the islands. There are a few different companies that can take you over, large ferries, smaller fast boats. However, coordinating is like threading a needle to get the reservation to the museums, get to the island and transfer to the other island in time for the next round of reservations.

First Naoshima with the Benesse House, Lee Ufan and Chichu museum.

The Ferry to Naoshima takes about 20 minutes.

Omg, no one is driving this thing 😱. Just kidding.

My faithful steed, the transportation on the island is limited. There’s a bus, the bike, or you walk. You can rent electric bicycles, my first time. I couldn’t figure out if it was faulty or it was me.

This is part of the Lee Ufan exhibit.

This is at the Benesse House Museum

Doesn’t this look like a Kaffe Fassett print?

If you sit here long enough you’ll see all of the sayings light up.
