Kobe, Temano 5
There were three places I wanted to go today, but, I'm going to have to pick just one. So it will be Kobe, and the Takenaka Carpentry Tool Museum and the Ikuta Jinja Shrine. After my generous portion of cheesecake for breakfast off we go. I already love this esthetic, it reminds me Frank Lloyd Wright.
Everything you ever wanted to know about thatched roof construction.
Or wood shingle roof construction
Then this happened, a tsunami warning, but we were assured it was a drill.
Okay back to the museum, and crazy joinery.
Okay, I don't know how it's made but it is so cool.
On the way to the Ikuta Jinja Shrine
Why this shrine?
Wakahirume-no-Mikoto
At most of the shrines they sell amulets for various reasons. They're tiny works of art.
Sorry for the sideways photo, blogging can be difficult on a phone.
This was lunch, it was this cute little place they serve you a set lunch, and you grill your own veggies and meat.
It was less than Wendy's would cost for a combo meal and far healthier.
Everything is so engineered here, the place I am sitting has the switch for the grill on the right, there's a small drawer that has chopsticks, toothpicks, and napkins located just under the table, and there's even a spigot for water and some glasses so you can serve yourself. There's also a tablet, so you can place your order, and there's an option for English. Sweet! It was delicious.
Well onto Temano, Uno Port and The art Islands...
