Kyoto 9 Kinkaku -Ji- (Buddhist Temple)

Finally we are going to see shrines and temples. When I first researched which shrines and temples to see it was mind boggling  it seems like they’re everywhere. There are over 400 Shinto shrines and 1,600 Buddhist temples in Kyoto, totaling over 2,000 religious sites. Some sources claim the number of shrines and temples is over 2,000 or even 4,000.

This is the Kinkaku-Ji Buddhist temple.

I think I like Kyoto better than Tokyo. It’s smaller, and easier to navigate, even though my travel agent suggested I limit my stay.  If you don't find anything to do here, it's a good base for daytrips into other areas.

I am a big fan of water, and there is water everywhere here.  The perfectly manicured grounds, and the variety of dramatic trees.  The weather has been perfect for this trip, and I am very grateful.
