Yes, it's a Kangaroo Pouch post... Australia Wildfires

I'm sure everyone has heard of the tragedy occurring in Australia with the spread of wildfires, that have killed an estimated 1 Billion animals and has claimed lives, livelihoods and homes of those in the fire's path.  Prayers to Australia, that the fires are extinguished, and that they can start to heal, and rebuild.

A facebook group called Animal Rescue Craft Guild asked for all manner of items, giving instructions for pattern, and assembly.  It appears that they have reached their goal, but are now asking for monetary donations.  Their statement is at the bottom of this page.

In the meantime, I have reached out to a local rescue, and am awaiting to hear back.  I now know what I can use those scraps for, because animal shelters can always use blankets and towels.

They're pretty cool no?  Lined in flannel, the blue pouch is for sleeping and the black and orange, with the front cut outs are for lounging.  The pouches are mounted on a little wooden frame, OMG it's so cute.

Ahh to be small enough to crawl into a kangaroo hammock!

One of the many resources for these patterns is Piccolo Studio

Or if you are up to drafting your own Mood Fabrics has instructions and a tutorial on their website.  The are also accepting made pouches to forward on to Australia, but now that the situation has changed, I shutter to think what will happen to them now.

I promise.... the next update will be the nightshirt.
