Bill Blass 2463 - Jacket Muslin

Remember that Bill Blass pattern I won on Allison C's blog? (to jog your memory)

Here's the first stab at the muslin.

Then the seam variations I was considering....

I think I'm going to stick to the original and maybe a plain version.

This is as near perfect a fit as I can expect from a pattern straight out of the envelope, but I have to make a full bust adjustment because the center front doesn't meet.  You can see the pulling lines from the side seams to the bust point, while the hip has plenty of ease.

Here is the adjusted version, fba done, and shoulder pads added. Sleeves next.

Muslin 1 - back

It is so good to see this pattern being used and I am impressed at your dedication to making muslins. I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

Hi Allison, I've learned my lesson, especially with jackets, muslins are a must for me.

I was just remarking to myself how clearly the muslin process works for you. You inspire! (I am waiting for your dedication to rub off!)

You just have to dust off that dress form and scour the net for cheap muslin fabric.
